In Memory/Honor
One of the most precious and long-lasting ways to commemorate the life of your loved one is by making an Honorary Gift in their name or an In Memoriam Gift for someone who has passed away. Your thoughtful gifts make it possible for the Long Island Alzheimer's and Dementia Center to continue funding our most vital projects and programs.
Legacy Giving (an In Memoriam program)
The LIAD Center offers a program to meet the needs of so many family members in mourning called Legacy Giving. This program provides grieving families a way to celebrate the life of their passed loved ones by setting up an "In Memorial" donation fund designated to support the many programs the LIAD Center provides to our participants and caregivers.
Legacy Giving offers two programs. The LIAD Center can provide families with pledge envelopes to distribute during their mourning period and together, the LIAD Center will set up a legacy in memory of their loved one. Or, you can visit click on the "Donate" button on the top right of our website and simply mention the name of your loved one so a fund can be set up in their memory.

Honorary Gifts
Honorary Gifts are a special way to acknowledge the importance of those in your life. In most instances, Honorary Gifts are given on special occasions, such as an anniversary, graduation, or a birthday. Many generous donors also choose to give Honorary Gifts for Mother's Day, Christmas, and Father's Day.
Regardless of the occasion or inspiration for the donation, Honorary Gifts are a heartfelt way of demonstrating how much someone means to you. These gifts are one of the sincerest ways of showing appreciation for someone's kindness or to recognize the significant impact they've had on your life.
You can make an Honorary Gift to Long Island Alzheimer's and Dementia Center online or in person. After you make the gift we can notify the honoree (if you would like). In the notification, we can either disclose the monetary amount or not disclose the monetary amount based on your preferences. In either case, we will administer the Honorary Gift as you have described.
