Family First Home Companions
Family First Home Companions helps older adults to live independently at home by providing professional caregiving services to help with their daily living activities. Caregiving services include meal preparation, light housekeeping, transportation, dressing assistance, bathing supervision, and companionship. Services are provided throughout Long Island and surrounding communities.
Family First Home Companions goes above and beyond to provide the upmost care for it's families. Similar to the LIAD Center, Family First Home Companions is a grassroots organization, specializes in dementia care and instills quality of life and independence in their work. Over the years, in addition to helping families living with this progressive disease find hope, we've proudly collaborated to help serve our community's health professionals, providing innovative CEU trainings for case managers and social workers across New York State. We are excited to acknowledge the hands-on impact our Industry Honoree makes in our dementia community!

Jay Asparro
Jay has transformed his love for his grandmother, Ann Asparro, and passion for running into his blueprint for making a difference - one mile, one person, one family at a time. Watching his grandmother slowly slip away while living with Alzheimer’s was devastating. Today, Jay is committed to making a difference by raising awareness and helping other impacted families navigate their way through the disease.
Through hard work and perseverance, over the last five years, Jay has raised over $92,000 for the LIAD Center. Committed to reaching his goal, Jay will be running 50 miles at his 5th Annual Ann Asparro Run on November 8th. You can support Jay by attending our comedy event and joining him on the sideline the day of to cheer him on!

Ray Ellin performs at top comedy clubs around the United States. He is the founder of Comedy Cloud, and is the Executive Producer of This Week at the Comedy Cellar on Comedy Central. Ray was profiled on Dateline NBC, where it was discovered that his blood pressure actually drops when he’s onstage. Ray hosted and wrote for the syndicated shows The Movie Loft, Premium TV, New York Now, and BrainFuel TV, as well as the ground-breaking web-based talk show Late Net with Ray Ellin. Ellin produced and directed the film The Latin Legends Of Comedy, which he sold to 20th Century Fox. Ray is the owner of Aruba Ray's Comedy Club on the island of Aruba. The venue recently celebrated its seven-year anniversary, and does approximately 100 shows a year featuring top US comedians on each show.

OUR MISSION
Our mission is to help improve the quality of life for those living with Alzheimer’s Disease and other related dementias, and their caregivers. For over 30 years the Long Island Alzheimer’s & Dementia (LIAD) Center has served as a lifeline to diagnosed individuals and their families throughout Long Island. The LIAD Center takes considerable pride in its pioneering role in the development of cutting-edge services that foster the independence, dignity well-being and safety of individuals with dementia, thus aiding in the prevention of premature nursing home placement. We are committed to the belief that there is life worth living after a diagnosis. Our caring professionals help program participants maximize their remaining abilities, while providing much-needed information, support and respite to family caregivers.
