LIAF Shining Star: Grace Johnson, LMSW
Grace Johnson, LMSW, Director of Counseling Services and Health Operations, was honored at the 2019 LIBN 30 under 30 ceremony. The 30 Under 30 Awards recognize the bright and dynamic young professionals under the age of 30, who contribute to the Long Island community through public service and who have made significant strides in business.
Since joining LIAF in 2017, Grace has brought innovation and determination to LIAF's programs and services. We are so proud to have Grace on our team!
Live Entertainment: A Highlight of LIAF's Day Programs
LIAF's day programs stimulate diagnosed individuals cognitively and physically, using word games, art therapy, daily exercise and more. We also recognize the significance of music. Music is a universal language with no boundaries. Studies have shown that music for dementia patients can boost mood, reduce agitation and improve focus.
Almost every afternoon, LIAF's day programs conclude with live entertainment. Our entertainers bring smiles, laughter, friendships and may also inspire memories.

Run virtually with Jay!
On November 2nd & 3rd, Jay Asparro will be running 100 miles in 24 hours to raise awareness for dementia and LIAF’s hands-on services, in honor of his grandmother, Ann.
Feeling inspired by Jay's mission? Jay has made it easy for you to join his run, without taking on the ambitious goal of 24 hours! By joining the Racery virtual challenge, you and/or your team have a full month to complete the same endeavor as Jay.
Run, walk, swim, bike anywhere you want. Then log activity and see yourself move on his map. If Jay can do 100 miles in 24 hours, how long will it take you to finish the virtual route?
All proceeds raised in the 2019 Ann Asparro Run are directly donated to LIAF.
