Stuart B. Almer
President and CEO of Gurwin Healthcare System
Stuart B. Almer is President and Chief Executive Officer of Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Gurwin Jewish - Fay J. Lindner Residences, Gurwin Home Care Agency and Gurwin Healthcare Foundation. He was recently appointed to the Leading Age New York Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) Cabinet, and the Board of Directors of the Association of Jewish Aging Services (AJAS) for which he served as co-chair of the AJAS 2019 Conference Committee. Almer is also an Adjunct Professor in the Masters in Health Administration Program at Hofstra University, and previously served in a similar capacity in Hofstra’s Gerontology Program. He often lectures to community and civic organizations on quality, leadership, the status of long term care, and the overall state of the healthcare system.
Almer grew up on the South Shore of Long Island. He resides in Plainview and is proud that his entire family is now in the healthcare field.

Jennifer Kurtzman
Jennifer Kurtzman has over 20 years digital advertising sales experience, with an expertise in strategy! Her passion lies in social media marketing and social storytelling.
In 2021, Jennifer partnered up with Jay Asparro to help increase awareness to the 6th Annual Ann Asparro Run and utilize her social skills for "good." With a whole lot of heart, together they created a "village". Jennifer executed on her strategy by increasing awareness and donations through the 1st Annual Ann Asparro fundraising summer dinner series, local collaborations and popular weekly Instagram Live conversations. Through the power of social community and leveraging tools that support caregivers, Jennifer has created what some call "a movement" behind The Ann Asparro Run's mission to reach and support caregivers.
Jennifer resides in Plainview with her husband Jordan and two children Jonah, age 7, and Romy, age 5. Her interests include hosting friends and family, sharing on Instagram, helping others and is beyond honored to be part of the LIAD community!

Our mission is to help improve the quality of life for those living with Alzheimer’s Disease and other related dementias, and their caregivers. For over 30 years the Long Island Alzheimer’s & Dementia (LIAD) Center has served as a lifeline to diagnosed individuals and their families throughout Long Island. The LIAD Center takes considerable pride in its pioneering role in the development of cutting-edge services that foster the independence, dignity well-being and safety of individuals with dementia, thus aiding in the prevention of premature nursing home placement. We are committed to the belief that there is life worth living after a diagnosis. Our caring professionals help program participants maximize their remaining abilities, while providing much-needed information, support and respite to family caregivers.
