The Long Island Alzheimer’s & Dementia Center proudly welcomes long-time supporter, Gordon Thomas of Alvita Home Care, to the Board of Trustees.
Gordon Thomas is well known for his involvement within the healthcare industry and advocacy for the dementia community. His passion for helping caregivers and their loved ones is evident in his continuous success. Over the last decade, Thomas has held positions such as skilled nursing marketing director and home health care community relations liaison.
“It gives me great pleasure when I can assist to make professionals jobs a lot easier by being a great source of information. Especially when you need to provide to your clients pertinent service regarding the senior living process” says Thomas.
In 2010, Thomas founded the Alzheimer’s All-Star Basketball Classic, an annual fundraising event that honors his father, Detective John Edward Thomas Sr., who was the first African American police officer in Suffolk County. Touched by his father’s diagnosis and his hands-on experience as a caregiver, Thomas joined the LIAD Center Board of Trustees in 2021.
